The Apostle's Corner

Divine– to be of service, God ordained.

Position– to put or arrange in a particular place or way, a location a situation or spot

No matter what place or situation we find ourselves in God has a purpose in it.  Like Rachel for instance.  We all know the story.  Jacob was sent away to his cousins because he stole Esau’s birthright.  He so happened to see Rachel getting water for the flock and he liked what he saw. He worked seven years for her he thought, but ended up with her older sister Leah. He had to work another seven to get the woman that was dear to his heart.

Can you imagine just because your sister is the oldest she gets to be with your man and you can’t do anything about it?  Her sister being with her man was all in her face for seven years, then it was her turn.   ***Then she found out she was barren.  Can you imagine how she felt?  Leah kept popping out all those babies.  Rachel most likely felt less than a woman because during that time having babies defined who they were as a woman. Worthless, low self esteem, humiliated.  Although the bible says she was beautiful probably didn’t feel beautiful, as we all have felt at one time or other.

She was Jealous. Jealousy can cause a person to be in a rage and cause you to do and say some awful things. She probably felt intimidated or threatened by her sister’s relationship with her man.  She could have even felt rejected. I’m sure there were times she wanted to be with him but couldn’t because Leah was with him. She was insecure about her relationship with Jacob and ashamed because she was barren.  Rachel went through this for seven years.  Competing with her sister by giving her maids to have babies for her.  Rachel was so frustrated one time she told Jacob to give me children or else she would die.  Has anyone got to that point in your life?

All of those emotions that Rachel went through, so have we including the barrenness.  The barrenness of not producing, not successful, a seed planted but no fruit, no life, nothing there to reproduce, lack.  In Hebrew it also means robbed.  Rachel, the chosen one.  It may not have seemed like she was. God had a plan.  After seven years of this emotional stress, Rachel was able to give birth to Joseph and Benjamin. We all know who Joseph was and how he was used in the bible.  All along Rachel was in divine position, a place ordained by God, a set up.  She died after giving birth to Benjamin.  In Genesis 30:22. It may seem like God forgotten her because of all she went through.  Rachel did not always handle things right or respond like she should have but God had her in a divine position and His plan had to come to pass through her with her imperfections, flaws and all.  Jeremiah says “for He knew the plans for her, plans of good and not evil to give her an expected end a hope and a future”.  God worked all things out after his will. Isaiah 14 says” for the Lord Almighty has a purpose and who can thwart him.  His hand is stretched out and who can turn it back”.  God opened her womb because it was the beginning of a legacy.   He placed gifts in her womb, inheritance, his glory was in her womb.  God placed in her LEGACY .  Her purpose was to bring forth LEGACY.  She was in position to bring forth legacy, yes she murmured and complained, cried, doubted, feared and went through a lot emotionally yet she was filled with legacy and her name is written in one of the most famous books there is – The bible.

What is your posture?  Are you immobile – whether in a sitting, laying or standing position?   Is your posture in proper alignment, are you slouched over, is your spine curved, are your joints positioned and in alignment with your posture? Do you have a hunch back, neck pain?   Get rid of, uproot, destroy, and move away from those things that cause your posture to be distorted, imbalanced or unhealthy.  If you are not standing tall, feet flat footed shoulder length with knees and hips in proper alignment, examine yourself and pray about your situation and surroundings.  Listen to the Holy Spirit to get to the root of the things that is causing posture to be imbalanced.  What are the things that need to be corrected in your life?  God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think if we allow Him to.  Allow the Holy Spirit to correct those things that cause your spine to be crooked, hips and knees out of balance or hunch back.  Get in the position to hear God’s voice and position yourself with Him.  Just as He did Rachel, God will hear you and open your womb to have success in the things of Him, produce fruit and birth legacy.
